(Paris, France) A strike at the Eiffel Tower forced the closure of the world’s most-visited monument for a second straight day.

Many tourists had already lined up hoping for the reopening.

Officials said talks with unions over demands for improvement in maintenance work and employment conditions were underway and they hoped the monument would re-open soon.

About seven million people visit the monument every year.
