TIPTON COUNTY, Tenn. — Authorities are investigating the death of a Mississippi man who was discovered dead on a Tipton County worksite Tuesday evening.

First responders were called to Mississippi Limestone Inc. around 6 p.m. Tuesday after receiving reports that a worker had died. Employees told investigators that the worker had been missing for some time, and a search revealed he had died inside an aggregate hopper.

The Tipton County Sheriff’s Office said it took several hours to recover the man’s body and notify next of kin. The man has since been identified as James Lee Randle, 67, of Greensville, Mississippi.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.

Authorities said they do not suspect foul play but encouraged anyone with information to call them at (901) 475-3300.
