You may have a seen an image on social media showing Dr. Martin Luther King Jr wearing a hoodie.

The image is being used as a protest of the verdict in the George Zimmerman trial and was created by Nikkolas Smith.

King’s niece, Alveda King, told a radio show the image is wrong, “Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. would very likely not wear a hoodie,” she said. “I can assure you he would not wear sagging pants. I don’t even think I’ve ever even seen his sons with sagging pants.”

King then said the verdict had been reached and that Americans must accept it.

Alveda King is a former conservative state representative in Georgia who has sometimes had run-ins with family members who don’t agree with her views

She is asking everyone to respect the opinions of the jurors in the Zimmerman case.
