MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A tractor trailer overturned in the westbound lanes of I-40 near Watkins overnight causing massive delays along the interstate for hours.

Police blocked off several lanes along with the exit ramp as crews worked to clean up the scene and determine what happened.

Hours after the crash around 7 a.m. Thursday, the tractor trailer caught on fire while crews were unloading the overturned vehicle. Authorities quickly closed the road as first responders worked to get the fire under control.

One lane was reopened as of 8:40 a.m. Thursday.

According to authorities, no hazardous materials were on the truck and no one was injured.

It’s also unclear how long the lanes will be blocked.
