MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police say a suspect has been taken into custody after a 15-hour barricade situation in Frayser on Friday.
Police said they were attempting to pick up a homicide suspect in the 2800 block of Raja Drive, the Breezypoint apartments. Three people were detained at the scene, but one person was holed up in a residence.
Authorities set up a perimeter around the area of Steele and Roosevelt. Police negotiators made the scene.
After about 15 hours, the suspect was taken into custody without incident.
Memphis Police have not identified anyone involved, but a woman on the scene who said she was the suspect’s grandmother identified him as Robert Patillo. She did not know anything about the alleged arrest warrant.
“Please come out, baby,” Kathy Patillo said.
She showed up after other family members alerted her.
“I want him to know that I love him and I don’t want anything to happen to him,” she said. “I’m his grandmother, we kinda got a close bond. And I just want him to come on out. Just please bring yourself out. “
A person by that name has a warrant outstanding in Shelby County for first-degree murder, along with other charges.
At one point Friday afternoon three helicopters circled the scene.
No injuries have been reported.
