MEMPHIS, Tenn. — One person was killed and another was critically wounded in a double shooting near Parkway Village on Saturday, according to Memphis Police.

Memphis Police announced on Sunday, an arrest was made. MPD said the suspect responsible for these shootings was identified as 18-year-old Jonathan Anguiano.

Anguiano was arrested and charged with First Degree Murder and Especially Aggravated Robbery (2cts) and Aggravated Assault.

On Saturday, officers responded to a shooting in the 4000 block of Lamar Avenue at Kings Liquor. According to the affidavit, one of the shooting victims told officers as he was leaving the store, an unknown man, who’s now been identified as Anguiano, approached him and demanded him to give him his keys and wallet. The victim said he cooperated and was shot by Anguiano.

The shooting victim told officers, after he was shot, he ran towards the back of the business.

Surveillance video showed another shooting victim heard the commotion going on inside of the business and yelled Anguiano. The shooting victim had a gun as well, but Anguiano started shooting and him and the victim fell to the ground.

The victim returned fire while lying on the ground, according to police. As the victim was lying on the ground, Anguiano shot him and took his wallet and gun.

Later in the day around 4 p.m., Memphis Police responded to a reckless driver, possible DUI, call at a Walgreens in the 4600 block of Summer Avenue. Officers ran the tags to the car and saw it was connected to the homicide on Lamar.

MPD said Anguiano was in the car and was slumped over and bleeding from his knee. He was taken into custody without incident.
