(Memphis)  Memphis Police are investigating an overnight accident involving a motorcycle that left one person dead and sent another to the hospital.

Police say a motorcycle carrying two people collided with a car around 2:20 a.m. Friday at Mitchell and South Third in Southwest Memphis.

Dispatchers say one of the people on the motorcycle died at the scene. The other was taken to the MED in critical condition.

So far, police haven’t released the identity of the person who died.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
