MEMPHIS, Tenn. — An arrest warrant was issued after two people were sent to the hospital following a shooting on Beale Street shortly after midnight on Sunday, according to Memphis Police.
MPD said officers responded to an aggravated assault call in the 100 block of Beale Street. When officers arrived, they located two shooting victims.
Officers went into the business and saw the shooting victim was suffering from a gunshot wound in the upper left thigh. The victim told officers that he was walking on Beale when he heard several shots from an unknown weapon. When he was struck, he jumped through a window to seek cover.
An officer placed a tourniquet on the victim’s leg to stop the bleeding.
The other victim told officers she was shot in her right thigh. She told officers she was walking on Beale when she was approached by a woman who also had a child with the father of her baby.
The shooting victim said she and the suspect got into a verbal argument, when the suspect pulled out a handgun. The suspect then attempted to fire the weapon but it was on safety. She said the suspect then took the weapon off safety and started firing shots at her.
Both victims are currently in stable condition.
Memphis Police released a photo of the suspect and identified her as 28-year-old Eledria Williams. They said she is now wanted on attempted first-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder charges.
