Brian Didlake

Reporter

Brian was born in Louisiana, but is Memphis-raised and a proud graduate of Southwind High School. As a reporter at WREG-TV he is excited to be back in his hometown and serve his community.

His foundation of his journalism education comes from Middle Tennessee State University (Go Blue!) where he majored in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in International Relations.

Brian is coming back home with a wealth of knowledge from reporting from both extremes of the East Coast. His career started out in Chattanooga, TN and from there skyrocketed to Hartford, CT and made his way down to sunny Orlando, Fl.

In his time up in the Northeast, Brian reported on major stories such as the COVID-pandemic as it shut down the tri-state areas of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Brian was the lead reporter during the Black Live Matters Movement in that area as he produced, directed and reported a 3-part docu-series coined “Being Black in America” to give context as protests started shutting down multiple interstates in Connecticut.

In Orlando, Brian continued to advocate for viewers reporting on a number of issues from the State of Florida’s legal battle with Disney, LGBTQ challenges within the state, and multiple breaking national stories.

Outside of his journalism career, Brian is an active member of the United States Army Reserves where he serves as a Public Information Specialist telling the Army’s story.

He is also a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. and the National Association of Black Journalists.

When he is not working or doing his military duties you can catch Brian at a museum, walking his dog Beaux, or an art show as he is also an award-winning painter.
