Jordan James joined WREG as a reporter in August 2021.
He comes to the Mid-South after two and a half years in Beaumont, Texas, where he was a reporter and fill-in anchor. While there, he had the opportunity to cover various natural disasters, US president visits and the Oil and Gas industry. Among the highlights of tenure in Southeast Texas was winning local press club awards for his reporting, and getting policies changed that allowed a father to reconnect with his terminally ill daughter.
James prides himself on being a community-focused storyteller. He enjoys interacting people and being a voice for underserved communities. Among the things that he is passionate about is volunteering and inspiring the future generation.
James, a graduate of the University of North Texas, is originally from Dallas, Texas and is excited to call Memphis home. He’s looking forward seeing what the region has to offer. When he is not reporting he enjoys attending sporting events, concerts, traveling and is a proud member of the National Association of Black Journalists.
If you see him out in the community don’t be a stranger.
