Symone Woolridge

Love what you do and do what you love! That’s exactly what Symone is doing as an anchor and reporter at WREG.

As a girl who grew up in a city just north of Chicago, she has found such joy in calling Memphis home and has had the honor of meeting so many amazing people. Symone has fallen in love with the the south. She’s working on loving those huge southern bugs too but that one may take a while… maybe forever. Their rocky relationship started in Mississippi.

Symone moved to the Bluff City from Tupelo where she was a reporter and fill-in anchor at WTVA. It’s also a place where she won her first Associated Press award. Two years before that Symone graduated from Southern Illinois University. She was very active on campus and served as president of the National Association of Black Journalists.

In Symone’s free time she loves to read, watch other news outlets, watch and play sports, listen to music, workout and get outdoors. She also loves to hear from you all. If you have a story idea, feel free to message her and share. If you just want to introduce yourself, don’t hesitate to do so. Trust me, it makes her day.

She also almost never meets a stranger so basically, you two are friends now.
