MEMPHIS, Tenn. — MPD homicide detectives are investigating a deadly double shooting in Parkway Village.
The shooting happened around 11:45 p.m. Thursday in the 4900 block of Judy Lynn Avenue near Clearbrook Street.
A neighbor said he heard arguing outside near the stop sign followed by gunfire.
All he and his family could do was take cover, he told WREG’s Melissa Moon.
When they went outside, two of the family’s cars had bullet holes in them.
Friday morning, we learned the shooting stemmed from a domestic dispute between a boyfriend and girlfriend.
The girlfriend reportedly called her brother who came over with some friends and jumped her boyfriend.
At some point, shots were fired and two people inside a car were struck.
One man was pronounced dead at the scene while another was taken to the Regional Medical Center in critical condition.
Police believe the boyfriend is responsible for the shooting but so far, no arrests have been made.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (901) 528-CASH.
