MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A City Watch Alert has been cancelled for a 12-year-old boy who was last seen Easter weekend.

Police have not released any information other than to cancel the City Watch.

Below is the original report when the boy was still missing:

“Please come home. We looking for you,” Walter Keith said.

The search is on for Thomas Hickman after police had said he disappeared and could potentially be in danger.

“I know Thomas. He’s a great little kid,” Keith, who looks out for young guys in his Binghampton neighborhood, said.

Neighbors were just as concerned as family members on Sunday night as they hoped to have a chance to see the child again.

“My heart dropped for the parents of Thomas because he’s not a bad guy,” Keith told WREG.

Thomas was reportedly last seen leaving his home on Nathan Avenue on Saturday around 6:00 p.m.

Police said the kid was headed to the Lester Community Center on Tillman but hadn’t been seen since.

“You know me personally. I’m one of your neighbors man. We love you man. Come on back home to your momma man,” Keith said. “Your sister and your mom — you got them worried to death. They’re reaching out to neighbors; they’re reaching out to anybody in the community that know where you at man.”

People close to the family feared the worst as time went by on Easter Sunday.

Community members said it is easy to young people to fall into the wrong crowds and get involved in the wrong things.

“Let us know that it’s not a tragic event that occurred,” Keith said.

The 12-year-old was last seen wearing a black hoodie with Lester Middle on it, blue jeans, and black and white sneakers.

Keith hoped his plea on Sunday night would help bring Thomas back home.

If you see Thomas Hickman or know of his whereabouts, give police a call.
