13 alligators stolen from Hot Springs tourist attraction

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. — The owner of a tourist attraction in Hot Springs said thieves have stolen 13 alligators from the farm.

Arkansas Alligator Farm and Petting Zoo manager Jamie Bridges told reporters that surveillance video shows two people wearing masks breaking into the farm after 2 a.m. Saturday and stuffing the alligators into bags before jumping over a fence to leave.

Bridges said 12 of the alligators are less than a year old and about 12 inches long, and the other is about 7 years old and 3 feet long.

The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission says it’s illegal to possess alligators in Arkansas without a permit.
