MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Three people were shot at an apartment complex in Parkway Village, Memphis Police say.
Police say the shooting happened at the Dogwood Trace Apartments on Oak Forest Way at around 1 a.m. Saturday morning.
Police say families, including children, were close by.
Two victims went to the hospital in critical condition, while the third victim went in non-critical condition.
Dominique Vassar has called the Dogwood Trace apartments home for the past year. She wasn’t too shocked when she learned the shooting happened not far from her apartment.
“They will shoot each other, they will shoot themselves or anything like that,” Vassar said. “Well, it’s something like this everyday.”
Clothes, shoes and even a latex glove often used by paramedics were left behind, marking the spot were the shooting happened.
Neighbors say the iron fences around the complex aren’t keeping violence out, as crime continues seeping into the community.
“You are going to see if you live in the hood,” Vassar said. “Like this, this is Parkway Village. It’s just like North Memphis. That’s where I’m from.”
Detectives say the two suspects responsible were traveling in a white sedan.
