‘3’ things to know for November 5, 2015

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Here are three things to know for Thursday November 5, 2015.

1-The head of the Memphis Police Association is speaking out about the grand jury decision in the Darrius Stewart case.

Mike Williams wrote a long post on the MPA’s Facebook page Thursday night, offering his support for Officer Connor Schilling for defending himself.

Investigators say Stewart attacked the officer and beat him with his handcuffs before Schilling shot Stewart.

Williams wrote in part, “If they come in and find him innocent, will that be enough? we need to stop the violence and address it across the board in our community.”

Next week, the Memphis Police Department will hold a hearing to determine Schilling’s future with the department.

He’s accused of violating department policies on handcuffing and radio procedures.

2- Someone who bought a Powerball ticket in Antioch, Tennessee is a wealthy person.

The jackpot is worth $144 million.

The winning numbers are 02-12-17-20-65 with a Powerball of 17.

This is the second biggest Powerball jackpot won in Tennessee history, the largest was in June 2014 and worth a nearly $260 million.
