MEMPHIS, Tenn. —

1- The Tennessee Department of Labor has partnered with Dollar General and several major employers in Tennessee to connect veterans with jobs.

The “Paychecks for Patriots” hiring fair will be held October 1st 2015 throughout Tennessee and will feature local employers interested in putting veterans to work.

2- Lottery officials say the winning ticket to a $310.5 million Powerball jackpot was sold in southwestern Michigan.

Michigan Lottery spokesman Jeff Holyfield says the winning ticket in Wednesday night’s drawing was sold at a gas station in Three Rivers.

The winner hasn’t come forward yet.

The winning numbers Wednesday night were 21, 39, 40, 55, 59, with the Powerball of 17, and Power Play of 3.

3- Someone who doesn’t need to win the lottery is Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam who is listed as the richest politician in the United States by Forbes magazine.

Haslam does not accept his salary as governor of $181,980.

His net worth is estimated to be $2.1 billion due to income from the Flying J truck stops owned by his family. Nationally he ranked 324, with Fred Smith of FedEx fame coming in at 171 and a net worth of $3.5 billion.
