MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Four men were indicted on first-degree murder charges Tuesday for an April drive-by shooting that killed a 7-year-old girl in the Fairhills neighborhood, Shelby County District Attorney Gen. Amy Weirich said.

Carlos Stokes, 22, Jordan Clayton, 22, Carl Johnson, 19, and Branden Brookins, 19, are all being held without bond.

Investigators believe the four deliberately targeted the girl, Kirsten Williams. They shot her when she was playing in a yard on Durby Circle.

Kirsten died at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital.

Clayton, Johnson and Brookins were charged in mid-April for the murder. Police arrested Stokes soon after, and he was later charged as well.
