BARTLETT, Tenn. — Dozens of cats taken out of a filthy Bartlett house are now in need of a new home.
Last week, 49 cats and a dog were rescued from a house with unsanitary living conditions.
Several groups have been working hard to get the animals ready for adoption, and with so many cats coming in at one time, the Bartlett Animal Shelter has some help from neighbors.
“The Humane Society of Memphis and Shelby County has some of our cats, Germantown Animal Shelter has some of our cats,” Angela Klein of Bartlett Animal Control said. “Those are the two agencies that had some open cages that they could house some of our cats for us.”
The home on the 7100 block of Memphis Arlington Road where the animals were being kept has now been condemned.
As an incentive to get these cats in good homes, the Bartlett Animal Shelter will cut the adoption fee in half until the end of the month.
