MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Fire Museum of Memphis will be hosting a 9/11 Recognition Ceremony to honor the men and women who served their country on September 11, 2001.
The Fire Museum told WREG the event kicks off at 8:45 a.m. at the corner of Adams and Second Street.
Some of Memphis’ finest will start from that location and march to the Fire Museum.
There they will hold a service in remembrance of the firefighters and police officers in New York City.
That service is scheduled to begin promptly at 9 a.m.
WREG was told it would be a very solemn event with a prayer, messages from local law enforcement and city officials, and a presentation of the colors among other things.
There will even be a reception to follow.
Along with the Memphis Fire Department, Memphis Police, Shelby County Fire Department, the Wolf River Pipes and Drums, and others will be in attendance.
The event is free and open to the public.
The Fire Museum of Memphis said they would love for the public to come out and take part in their tribute.
