(Memphis) Memphis’ own “Penny” Hardaway will be inducted into the National High School Hall of Fame.
The former Treadwell High and University of Memphis Tigers star will be the ninth person and first-ever athlete from the state of Tennessee to be inducted.
His record of 1,289 points in a season at Treadwell still stands today.
Hardaway went on to play for the Tigers and named an All-American in 1993.
He was a third overall pick in the 1993 draft and had a 15-year career in the NBA.
The ceremony will take place in Boston in July.
