Additional suspects charged in BP mob attack

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police have charged additional suspects in the BP mob attack.

Denizell Gladney, 19, Devin Hulbert, 19, Darion Milken,19, and five juveniles were identified by police and arrested since Thursday.

The charges against them ranged from simple assault, aggravated riot,  burglary and vandalism.

This arrest came after 19-year-old Joe Brittman was arrested for his part in the physical attack against a man at the gas station on Monday.

Brittman was charged with aggravated riot, simple assault and vandalism.

Seven of these nine defendants have criminal histories that include possession of a weapon, drug charges, evading arrest, domestic assault and aggravated robbery.

In all, four adults and five juveniles have been arrested for the attack.

On Monday, surveillance video showed a mob of rowdy high school students beating a man at a Crosstown gas station.

Police said a large group of Northwest Prep Academy students swarmed a BP gas station on Poplar and Cleveland.

Orrden Williams, the man seen in the video being attacked, told WREG one of the kids “sucker punched” him.

After Williams had been punched in the head, dozens of teenagers swarmed the gas station.

Customers inside of the store jumped, and workers held the door shut as the teens rushed the entryway.

Williams made a mad dash for the car where, he said, one teen threw punches just inches away from his baby’s head.

Police claimed the teenagers also damaged William’s car.
