MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two California men were arrested in Shelby County after agents with the West Tennessee Drug Task Force found 30 pounds of crystal meth in their truck.

The 18-wheeler driven by Pablo Lopez, 39, and Luis Alberto Lopez, 25, had been pulled over for speeding on 1-40, according to a release by the Office of the Shelby County District Attorney General.

Pablo Lopez consented to a search of the vehicle, and WTDTF agents used a drug-detection dog to find about 31.5 pounds of crystal meth in the trailer. The drugs were wrapped in bundles and hidden in produce that was on its way to Indianola, Mississippi, according to the release.

The agents seized the truck and the drugs. The drugs have a street value of about $700,000, according to the release.

Each man was charged with felony possession of crystal methamphetamine with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver.
