Airline Reservation System Back Up

A mess for airline passengers late last night is finally fixed, but not without some headaches.

A problem with a computer system forced several airlines to delay flights nationwide.

The glitch caused problems with reservations, check-ins and online booking.

Some passengers were stranded in airports across the U.S. for several hours.

The problem apparently originated with Sabre, a company that Alaska and many other airlines use for technology services.

Passengers on American, JetBlue, Frontier, Virgin America, Qantas and British Airways were also affected.
