The online retail giant has raised the price of an annual subscription from $79.00 to $99.00.
A student membership will cost now $49.00 a year.
Prime members get two-day shipping on a large number of Amazon items at no extra cost, plus the ability to borrow Kindle books and stream movies and television shows.
This is the first price increase for Amazon Prime since it launched nine years ago.
