BETHESDA, Md. — An American healthcare worker in Maryland being treated for Ebola has been downgraded from serious to critical condition
The worker had been volunteering at an Ebola treatment unit in Sierra Leone when they got sick.
Brought here on a chartered flight, the patient was taken the National Institutes for Health Special Clinical Studies Unit (SCSU) in a private helicopter.
The person is the second to be treated for Ebola at NIH.
More than 10,000 people have lost their lives in this latest Ebola epidemic.
