The recession did more than just kill jobs — it’s apparently prompted Americans to have fewer children.
The U.S. birth rate fell to another record low last year.
There were just 63 births per woman of child-bearing age, which is 15 to 44 years old.
It is the lowest birth rate since record-keeping began in 1909.
Researchers say about 22 percent of couples said money concerns prompted them to have fewer children or no children at all.
