ALCORN COUNTY, Miss. — Joseph Lin McNair Jr. has pleaded guilty to a felony related to the public corruption investigation of Alcorn County officials.
McNair was sentenced to five years in prison and must pay a $5,000 fine.
He had been charged with fraud for allegedly allowing Alcorn County District 2 Supervisor Jimmy “Dal” Nelms to use his names on invoices then give him a cut of the money.
The state found that Nelms was the ringleader of the scheme that involved multiple people in the county. Nelms was sentenced Sept. 8 to 12 years in prison.
