ALAMO, Tenn. — The man sought by local and state authorities in the death of a Tennessee woman has been captured.

According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, Leslie Earl Carter was taken into custody with the assistance of the Ripley Police Department and the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office.He was then taken to the Crockett County Jail for booking. He was charged with first-degree murder and theft of property.

An arrest warrant for Carter was issued on Thursday, several hours after he was reportedly connected to the death of Mary Finch of Alamo, Tennessee. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said Carter took the victim’s 2014 gray Chevrolet Cruze after the incident.

Authorities said he should be considered armed and dangerous.
