(Memphis) News Channel 3 has learned a probate judge has appointed a Guardian Ad Litem for the four daughters of fallen officer Martoiya Lang.

Attorney Flordia Henderson will have responsibility of representing the children’s interests and report back to the court.

Officer Lang’s mother, who filed to be the girl’s legal guardian, will not have her case heard until the end of February. In the meantime, Lang’s estranged husband has custody.

News Channel 3 has also learned that about $50,000 raised from public donations made to SunTrust bank has been deposited at probate court and the court will oversee how the funds are used.

Attorneys will take up the Lang divorce hearing Tuesday that was pending before Officer Lang was shot and killed in December while serving a drug warrant.
