JACKSON, Tenn. — Authorities in Tennessee say they have arrested a man who provided undercover agents with a pipe bomb.

According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, an investigation by state, federal and local authorities led to the arrest of 40-year-old Jonathan Edward White on Friday.

TBI says the Hardin County man had made a series of threats on social media and agents determined he might have explosives.

TBI says White met with undercover agents Friday evening and gave them the pipe bomb, which the Tennessee Highway Patrol then rendered safe.

The agency says White was arrested without incident and faces one count of possession of a prohibited weapon. He was booked into Hardin County Jail on a $500,000 bond.

It was not immediately clear whether White has a lawyer.
