Strangulation and drowning. That’s the official cause of death for 11-year-old Jessica Williams.
KAIT-TV is reporting the autopsy is complete on the little girl found in a ditch near Gosnell, Ark., last week.
The preliminary findings were released earlier today.
News Channel 3 couldn’t get our hands on the details of the report, because the judge placed a gag order on the case moments before it was released.
This report backs confessed killer 17-year-old Christopher Sowell’s testimony.
Prosecutors say Sowell admitted to investigators that he grabbed Jessica by the throat and choked her.
Sowell says he then pushed Jessica over a bridge into the water and walked away.
Sowell lived a quarter-mile away from Jessica’s home. The two rode the school bus together.
Neighbors say Sowell had a crush on Jessica, but Jessica didn’t like him back.
Sowell is being held on a $2 million bond for first degree murder.
PRosecutors said that his charges could change once the autopsy report came out, but nothing has changed yet.
Sowell will appear in court later this month.
