(Memphis) Civil rights activist and retired judge D’Army Bailey is being honored for the contributions he made to the City of Memphis and the civil rights movement.
Adams Ave. between Second St. and Third St. was renamed for Bailey on Wednesday.
In addition to serving 19 years as a Circuit Court judge, Bailey is well known for founding the National Civil Rights Museum.
Bailey purchased the Lorraine Motel, site of the museum, in 1982.
