(Memphis) Memphis music legends The Bar-Kays gave two graduating seniors from Frayser High School a big financial boost towards their college education.

Lead singer Larry Dodson visited the school Wednesday and presented the students with scholarships from the band’s memorial fund. The Allen Jones/Marjorie Barringer/Bar-Kays Scholarship Fund is named after the band’s former producer and mentor.

Seniors who receive the scholarship have been accepted and will attend LeMoyne-Owen College and have a C average or better.
