BARTLETT, Tenn. — A suspect was arrested Tuesday on charges of murder and attempted murder after a deadly double shooting on New Year’s Eve, Bartlett Police said.

The shooting happened in the 3300 block of Summerhill Drive around 10:30 p.m. Monday.

According to authorities, first responders located two people with gunshot wounds. One was transported to the Regional Medical Center. The second died on the scene.

After an investigation, a relative of the victim, Robert Matthew Vaughn, was developed as a suspect.  He was arrested at 2 p.m. Tuesday, and was booked and processed into the Bartlett Jail.

Vaughn is charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, police said.
