(Bartlett, TN) A 16-year-old Bartlett High School student has been arrested for carrying a weapon on school property.

The 11th grader is also charged with Unlawful Carrying or Possession of a Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Resisting Arrest.

A Bartlett Police officer assigned to the school received word the student had a gun Thursday.

The student was reportedly taken into the office where they say the student tried to run.

Once he was caught, a .32 caliber semi-automatic pistol was found in the student’s waistband.

The student was also in possession of 1.1 grams of marijuana.

He is at Juvenile Court.
