MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Bass Pro’s Pyramid location is off to a booming start one year after its grand opening.

The outdoor megastore has doubled the projected attendance drawing around three million people, store manager David Hagel told WREG.

That’s triple what the Memphis Zoo brings in.

Since the opening of Bass Pro, people from all 50 states have traveled to Memphis to shop and that means extra dollars coming into the local economy.

Bass Pro is also raking in more revenue than expected; although the store wouldn’t release detailed numbers.

If Bass Pro decides it needs a parking garage in the future, it will be paid for out of the proceeds of the Tourist Development Zone.

However, it’s too early to know if Bass Pro will need a parking garage and the city has not been asked about it at this time.
