MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Bass Pro Shops at the Pyramid released a new video clip this week previewing the latest on the construction inside. It shows the completed elevator, which a spokesperson said is the tallest free-standing elevator in the country.
While the Bass Pro Shops logo recently went up on the side of the Pyramid, the inside’s construction has been largely under wraps.
News cameras have not been inside since the fall.
Bass Pro posted a video preview both this week and last week. Last week’s clip showed a tall-reaching Cyprus tree.
People WREG spoke with downtown had not yet seen the updates but said they were impressed when we showed them.
One man said his son delivered chemicals to the Pyramid for work and claims the pace of the project is picking up. He said it is impressive on the inside.
The building’s opening has been delayed several times. Tuesday, Bass Pro Shops claimed it is still on schedule to open May 1, 2015.
“If you want perfection, you’ve got to take your time,” one man downtown said.
