CARROLL COUNTY, Ark. — A Bentonville man was charged with attempted capital felony murder on Thursday after he was involved in an incident with Arkansas State Troopers Wednesday night.
Just before 6 p.m., law enforcement began receiving calls from motorists saying a red Jeep Wrangler was traveling recklessly along Highway 62 near Green Forest.
There were even reports the driver, 36-year-old Kenneth Michael Case, was waving a gun and firing at motorists going eastbound.
Troopers tried to pull Case over, but he refused to comply and fled the scene.
As the chase neared Dryfork, Case slammed on the brakes and jumped out of the Jeep with his gun drawn.
He began firing on State Troopers and a Madison County Sheriff’s Deputy who had joined the pursuit.
Case eventually surrendered and was taken into custody.
In addition to the attempted murder charges, he was also charged with one count of aggravated assault, one count of committing a terroristic act, and driving while intoxicated.
He was taken to the Carroll County Jail for booking.
