Black Friday Shoppers After High Tech Toys

(Southaven, MS) Friday, Shoppers in Southaven, Mississippi were burning off those Thanksgiving calories with some retail therapy.

Again this year, everyone had the chance to get a jump-start on their Christmas shopping with some stores opening on Thanksgiving morning and others Thanksgiving night.

Best Buy opened at 6pm Thursday.

By mid-morning the lines that formed outside were long gone, but inside every register was still busy.

Tablets, laptops, cellphones, the Xbox One and TV’s were some of the big draws this Black Friday.

“I’ve been watching it on the computer. I”ve been watching the prices come down,” said Jim Edwards.

Edwards came to Best Buy specifically to buy  a 55″ TV that was half off.

“A $1,000 TV knocked 50% off. You can’t knock that,” said Edwards.

Shoppers weren’t just looking for deals, but things that were free.

Pamela Evans didn’t mind waiting about 30 minutes in line to get two free cell phones.

She was picking up one for her, and one for her son.

“It’s what I expected. I thought it would be crowded earlier, but actually, it got crowded later in the morning. So, it’s pretty good,” said Evans.

Shoppers say all in all it was a pretty good Black Friday.
