(West Memphis, AR) Police discovered the body of an adult female inside a ditch off Park Avenue in West Memphis, Arkansas.
The discovery happened around noon Tuesday.
Police have yet to identify the woman or determine how she ended up in the ditch, but at this time believe she may have died of natural causes.
Streets surrounding the ditch were shut down for hours as police investigated the discovery.
The scene left many neighbors uneasy.
“You are always concerned, you think, ‘is that a family member, a friend, a church member?’ It’s scary, said Tracey Edmonds, who lives adjacent to the ditch.
Police expect to release the woman’s identity once they have notified her family.
