Boy born without legs gets new way to move around

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — There was a very special surprise for a 5-year-old boy at the Block Party for Peace.

It was the final day for the weekend-long event held every year in Frayser, and Sunday was the “Whipped” Charity Car, Truck and Bike Show.

Aidan Holliman was born without legs and only has one arm.

While at camp this summer, Aiden wanted to ride power wheels like the other kids, so his camp leaders got him an old beat-up kids’ Jeep.

Then Aiden found out about the car show, and the beat-up Jeep wasn’t going to cut it, so his camp counselor took it to a Raleigh car shop, hoping to get it fixed up.

Instead the shop decided to give Aiden a fancy new ride.

They surprised him with it Sunday afternoon at the car show.
