Bras, panties, and gun stolen from woman’s apartment

HICKORY HILL, Tenn. — A woman said she felt violated after her underwear and gun was stolen from inside her home.

She claimed the burglars also made it off with furniture, jewelry, and clothes that she valued at $20,000.

“There is a God that’s sitting up high and looking down low,” Annjeannette Hardin told WREG.

Faith is all Hardin has left to hold on to after she had said thieves broke into her apartment at the Mateo Square in Hickory Hill on Sunday.

“A neighbor called me and told me that there were some guys in my apartment moving some things out,” Hardin explained. “I said hey those are my things. What are y’all doing with my things? Y’all not maintenance, y’all don’t work here. What are y’all doing in my apartment?”

Hardin was in the process of moving to an upgraded apartment inside of the same complex.

Hardin caught the duo on camera and said they stole almost everything in her bedroom, including her bras and panties.

“I feel violated, humiliated. It’s a shame,” Hardin said.

According the victim, the burglars are related to someone who works at the complex.

Hardin is demanding an investigation by the owner of the company and the Memphis Police Department.

“There was no sign of forced entry. They said they had the keys, and that’s how they got into the apartment,” Hardin said.

WREG went to the leasing office on Tuesday looking for answers, but staff ran to the back of the building when news crews opened the door.

WREG also called the property manager on Tuesday and left a message to request information.

“I was hysterical. I was terrified,” Hardin said. “Who are these guys in my apartment? Who gave them keys? Why would anybody do that?”

Hardin is left asking questions that have her ready to pack up and leave the place she has called home for five years.

“I don’t want to live here anymore. I don’t want to live here anymore,” she said.

Hardin filed a police report on Sunday and was given a police report number.

A Memphis Police Department spokesperson never returned WREG’s request for information and inquiry into where officers are in their investigation.
