According to CBS affiliate WCBI, authorities tried to stop an SUV with Desoto County plates in Union County on Thursday. The driver sped away, reaching speeds over 100 miles per hour before overturning on County Road 102.

Authorities said one of the three suspects inside crawled from the wreckage with what appeared to be a sawed-off shotgun and fired at the deputy. The deputy returned fire.

When it was over, one man inside the SUV was taken into custody.

The other two, identified as Jeremey and Timothy Rooker, fled the scene.

The suspects made their way to Shelby County where they were taken into custody, along with their mother, at a Dollar General store on Raleigh Millington Road. The SWAT team, ALERT and the fugitive squad helped in the arrest.

The sheriff’s office said the three went to the store for medical supplies after they had been shot in the shootout with deputy. Their mother will be charged for aiding them.

Both brothers have homes listed in the area where they were arrested and warrants out of Shelby County.

After their arrest, Shelby County deputies raided a house where they believed the brothers had been hiding.
