MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two people are dead after a fiery crash at the intersection of East Parkway and Central Avenue early Friday morning.
Police say a woman in a Honda Accord was sitting at the traffic light headed north when a man in a black Cadillac slammed into the back of her car.
The cars ended up about 300 feet from the intersection, and the woman’s car burst into flames.
Police identified the woman as Bria Dorsey, 26, and the man as William Garrett, 65.
Lt. Louis Brownlee with MPD said police are investigating to determine whether alcohol was involved.
The accident shut down the northbound lanes of East Parkway and the westbound lanes of Central Avenue.
Authorities initially said three people were killed in the crash, but later released a corrected statement saying that only two had been killed.
