Caskets Crushed To Make Room At Overcrowded Cemetery

(Bartlett, TN) Garland Watkins knew there were problems at Galilee Memorial Gardens.

He thought it was just bad paperwork, but court documents we obtained show his wife Constance may not just be missing in the cemetery’s computer, but also on the grounds.

Employees recently pried open casket after casket, trying to see who is inside.

“They leave your loved one’s body on a platform where they have a revolving door of funerals going on and I’m not sure if she was buried that day or not,” said Watkins.

His high school sweetheart of 35 years, whom he still loves to this day, is somewhere out there.

He’s been given five possible spots, and it gets worse.

Documents show cemetery owners appear to have run out of room and were driving bulldozers over caskets to crush them and fit multiple people into one five-foot-deep grave.

“Right now, God rest her soul, she’s in Heaven. I’m trying to find her body right now. I want to know where her body is at,” said Watkins.

Owner Jemar Lambert was arrested and the new information shows this appears to be a cemetery-wide problem affecting the families we spoke to, and potentially many more.
