Police: Woman left victims behind after motorcycle crash that left one dead

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The driver involved in a deadly motorcycle crash in Shelby County is now facing charges.

Elixabeth Blackwood, 24, is charged with failure to report an accident, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to yield the right of way.

Deputies say Blackwood was behind the wheel of a truck that collided with a motorcycle on Woodstock Cuba Road near Littlejohn Road late Wednesday night.

According to the affidavit, Blackwood drove to a neighbor’s house after the accident and didn’t provide aid to the two victims on the motorcycle.

Deputies also say she never called 911 and may have tried to hide her damaged vehicle behind her home.

The driver of the motorcycle, 53-year-old Bruce Kingdon of Millington, was killed in the crash.

His female passenger was taken to the Regional Medical Center in critical condition.

Deputies say one of her legs was severed in the crash.
