ATLANTA — Chick-fil-A is owning up to their mistake — but their apology is sweet.
Later this year, the popular restaurant will bring back its original barbecue sauce.
After several months of angry #BringBackTheBBQ Facebook posts and tweets, the restaurant posted a video on Tuesday revealing that their original sauce will return in November.
“When we introduced a new Smokehouse Barbeque Sauce in July, we thought we were serving up a bold new flavor you’d love. But your response was even bolder,” Chick-fil-A said in a press release. “Beginning mid-November, the original Barbeque Sauce will return to the Chick-fil-A menu at restaurants nationwide to replace Smokehouse Barbeque Sauce.”
The video, inspired by Jimmy Kimmel’s “mean tweets” videos, shows employees reading angry tweets from customers angry about the recipe change.
It’s safe to say Chick-fil-A didn’t pick the meanest of the “mean tweets” to feature in their video — but here they are:
