MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A girl was struck by a vehicle outside a school in Fox Meadows on Wednesday, and now the driver has been charged.
Memphis Police said the girl was hit outside Power Center Academy at 5390 Mendenhall Mall just before 3 p.m.
The child was taken to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in critical condition, police said.
The person responsible was on the scene, police said.
Police later said the driver, 19-year-old Tomale Spencer, was arrested and charged with not having a driver’s license, financial responsibility law and leaving the scene of an accident with injuries.
