MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A 2-year-old is in critical condition after reportedly falling down a flight of stairs with a belt around her neck.
On Friday, officers were called to Methodist South Hospital on an accidental injury call.
Investigators were told the child was in the 3700 block of Nehemiah Way when she fell down a flight of stairs with a belt around her neck.
An hour later, the child was transported from Methodist South to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital.
She reportedly could not breathe on her own and is in critical condition.
Police told WREG this is an ongoing investigation.
